The Broward County Convention Center sits facing the Intracoastal Waterway, offering panoramic water views through a soaring glass wall.
The newly-updated convention center with its expanded 350,000 sq. ft of contiguous exhibit space is now complete, but work continues through 2025 on the remainder of the $1.2 billion expansion project. When the expansion project is completed, the Convention Center will boast more than 1.2 million square feet of event space including the new 65,000 sq. ft waterfront ballroom, an expansive 6-acre outdoor plaza with restaurants, and landscaping to create a parklike atmosphere. The expansion also include the addition of an inter-connected 801-room, 29-story Omni headquarter hotel.
On prominent display will be the spectacular and famous 36ft. x150 ft. sculpture, "Sailfish in Three Stages of Ascending" by Kent Ullberg - dramatic by day and breathtaking by night. All this is just a short drive from the airport, the beaches and Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas downtown dining, shopping, arts and entertainment district.
Completely state-of-the-art with cutting-edge technological services, the center features an executive teleconference suite and wireless Internet access and hot spots throughout. A five-star food and beverage department presents inspired cuisine, and top-notch staff works with planners to execute all the details of even the most complex program with ease.
